AMX race officials will not tolerate any abuse (either verbally or physically) of flaggers, lap counters or themselves by drivers, their pit personnel or members of their families and friends.
Race decisions will ONLY be made by race officials. Do not approach track officials, flagmen or lap counters with on-track problems. Any issue that needs to be handled or taken care of, please write the issue on a piece of paper and hand it to an official. If the issue is critical, it will be handled on race day. If not, it will be addressed at the next scheduled meeting following the race. All decisions of the AMX Association and race officials are final.
Any driver, pit personnel or any other person directly involved with any fighting or misconduct will be removed from the premises.
AMX offical race season begins May 1 and finishes September 31, each calendar year.
Fines and Penalties:
Drivers found guilty of deliberate violation of AMX rules and regulations will be subject to review by the race committee. Blatant disregard for safety and/or track rules will result in disqualification of one or more races, possible termination of race privileges and/or fines, these to be determined at the race committee’s discretion. Penalties imposed at the last race of the season, will carry over into the following season. READ THE RULES!
Engine Buy Out Rule:
There is NO engine buy out rule associated with AMX, Effective 1/1/2000.

General Rules for Racers
Race Designation and Identity:
AMX Super Stock Car, see separate rules for super stock car
AMX Stock Car, see separate rules for stock car
AMX Mini Stock Car, see separate rules for mini stock car
Novice Class, this class is open for first-time drivers. This designation is valid for one complete AMX season, beginning May 1 and ending September 31 each calendar year. The number of races competed in during the season has no bearing on the duration of the drivers eligibility for this class. Once the season is over, the driver must move up to a different level of racing. Drivers may borrow a car or they can own the car, but no matter what, they must use a (hot) car that has raced during the earlier races at that particular event. Only mini stock and stock cars are allowed in the Novice Class. NO EXCEPTIONS!
Driver Information:
Drivers age may be 16 years of age and older. Junior drivers (16 and 17 years of age on May 1st) can compete in novice, mini stock and stock classes only and must have a notarized release signed by a parent or legal guardian. Drivers must wear crash helmets and safety harness at all times during the race. Drivers enter at their own risk of injury. Release forms must be signed prior to vehicle safety inspections. NO EXCEPTIONS. This includes your pit personnel. Remember, the driver is responsible for the behavior of pit personnel, family and/or friends that attend the race.
Pit Personnel:
Use of Alcohol and/or Illegal Drugs:
NO ALCOHOL OR ILLEGAL DRUGS OF ANY TYPE IS ALLOWED IN THE PIT AND RACE TRACK AREA.
THIS WILL BE ENFORCED AND IF CAUGHT. YOU WILL HAVE TO LEAVE THE GROUNDS.
If you are suspected of using alcohol or illegal. drugs before or during the race.
You will be subjected to a test and if found positive, any cost incurred will become your
responsibility. It will be cause for automatic disqualification of driver, car
and pit crew for that race day. Depending on certain circumstances, additional. suspension
may be enforced by the AMX Board of Directors.
Each vehicle entered is allowed (1) one pit crewmember at no charge. One additional pit pass for a crewmember may be purchased for an additional fee. (see Entry Fees) Pit crewmembers must be 15 years of age or older. Driver and pit crew members are required to clean up their pit area after each race. NO ALCOHOL OF ANY TYPE IS ALLOWED IN THE PIT AREA. Drinking or individuals suspected of drinking on race day, either before the races or in the pits and/or race area, by drivers or their pit personnel, will be cause for automatic disqualification of driver, car and pit crew. THIS WILL BE ENFORCED AND IF CAUGHT, YOU WILL HAVE TO LEAVE THE GROUNDS. Drivers must obey the race rules and they are responsible for the actions of their pit personnel.
Children under 15 years of age are not allowed in the pit area anytime after the first call for hot laps. See individual track rules for hot lap information.
Support Vehicles:
For each car or truck entered to race, one support vehicle will be allowed in the pit area. The pitman should be the driver of the support vehicle. Each support vehicle should be visibly marked on the windshield with white shoe polish. Any vehicle without an identity will be removed from the pit area. Over-sized support vehicles will be parked in designated areas.
Safety Equipment:
Drivers must use their safety equipment when on the track (before, during and after the race including hot laps).
This includes helmets, 5-point harness and window safety net.
Hot Lap Information:
You will be notified on race day when hot laps will be run. Each driver is responsible to be in line and ready to drive hot laps. Safety equipment required for hot laps. There is NO REFUND of entry fees at the point when the car takes the track for hot laps.
All novice drivers are required to take all hot laps.

Cross Entry:
Mutiple entry allowed. One driver can enter all classes of racing, but must have a different car for each class.
It will be that drivers responsibility to have thier car ready for each event. (AMX will not hold the show for you)
If your car is not lined up for your event by the time the other competitors roll onto the track you will line up last.
If you are not safely in your car and on the track by the time the Pace truck starts rolling you forfit that event.
If it is a heat race that you missed you do not qualify for any main.
Sharing Vehicles:
Drivers CANNOT share a vehicle at the same race. Once a driver takes a car to the track for hot laps, he is designated as that cars driver. Make sure your paper work matches the driver. See Novice Class information for an exception to this rule.
Changing Your Race Identity:
Drivers can advance to an upper class of racing at any time. This changes their race identity. They can also drop to a lower class of racing (from Super Stock to Stock or from Stock to Mini Stock) but this change will be mandatory for one year. If changing after the season begins, points earned will not be transferred to the new identity.

Pit Pass Information:
Pit passes are issued at the racer registration booth. All pit passes will be applied to the wrist by the secretary. Under no circumstances will pit passes be handed out for a late arriving pitman. If your personnel do not arrive with you at the time of your registration, then they must go to the registration booth when they arrive to get their pass and sign a release form. See Entry Fees for pit pass fees.
Flag Information:
Green Flag – Go, start, or begin
White Flag – Last Lap, one lap to go
Yellow Flag – Hazard, caution, be alert for danger but still proceed
Black Flag – Disqualified, driver must leave the track
black flag conditions: any part of the vehicle coming loose such as; hoods, bumpers, doors, trunk lids, fenders, safety nets and any other part of the vehicle that race officials deem unsafe. A number of undesirable driving practices that are in violation of safety and/or race rules will also earn you a black flag. If you are black flagged, you are disqualified for the rest of that race.
Red Flag – Stop, racers must stop their vehicles.
no work is permittedon vehicles on the track during a red flag condition. Drivers of the vehicles involved in a red flag condition are disqualified from the rest of that race. Racers cannot leave or enter the track during a red flag condition. If a car, that had previously left the track prior to the red flag condition, is ready to resume racing, the officials will bring the car onto the track during the realignment for the re-start. This car will be located at the back of the pack.
Checkered Flag – Race is Complete. Even if you have not finished all your laps, the placing for the race will be recorded at the time the first racer crosses the Start/Finish line.
Restarts:
A race restart will happen when a red flag condition occurs. If a red flag is given during the first lap, the vehicles will be restarted in the original race lineup. If a red flag is given any time after one lap is completed, all vehicles will be lined up, single file, at the Start/Finish line according to the place they were in on the last completed lap counted. See Red Flag conditions for more information.
Leaving the Race Car:
Drivers must stay within the confines of their car while the race is under way. Officials may elect to remove drivers from cars during a red flag condition. Drivers wishing to be removed from a vehicle must first notify the nearest flagman for assistance. In the event of a roll-over, NO DRIVER will be removed from a vehicle until the EMT’s authorize such an action. Exception to this is in the case of eminent danger such as fire.
Additional Riders:
Under NO circumstances will individuals be allowed to ride on the outside of any car at any time. Cars equipped with a safety rider seat in the passenger location, may carry a second person for special events. This extra rider must have required safety equipment on. See Safety Equipment.
Blatant Hits and/or Power Spin-outs:
At no time will drivers be allowed to use their vehicle as a weapon to deliver blatant hits deemed to remove another vehicle from competition either by spinning out, shoving over the berm, rolling another vehicle, etc. Drivers using these or other demolition derby tactics will be black-flagged. Hits determined as blatant are hits made under power. If you are involved in a collision and have your brakes locked up or attempted to steer away in an effort to avoid the hit, this will not be considered a blatant hit.
Missing a Jump:
Cutting comers on the track or going around jumps will result in an automatic black flag.
If forced out-of-bounds by contact, flaggers' judgment applies.
Communications:
Track officials will be using 2-way radios for relaying race information. Under no circumstances will drivers be allowed to use radio communication to their pit personnel during the course of the race.
Abandoned Tires:
Tires cannot be abandoned or left in the pit area. Drivers are responsible for the removal of such tires and other debris from their pit area. A fine may be assessed for abandoned tires.
Abandoned Vehicles:
Race vehicles left at the track site are considered abandoned on the Monday following the race. These vehicles are subject to towing and all towing fees will be accessed to the driver whose number appears on the fin or the doors if the fin is not with the car.
Smoking Vehicles:
Race vehicles bellowing smoke to the degree of causing hazardous track conditions will be black flagged.
Driving Backwards On the Track:
Driving backwards on the track is not allowed. Using reverse to turn around is allowed, but any driver using reverse for an extended period of time will be in violation of race rules and subject to disqualification.
Points:
See individual track rules for race dates. Drivers can earn points at each AMX affiliated race. These points count towards year-end awards that are presented at the AMX Banquet and Awards Ceremony.
