The rumors are true. Dick Erlandson has registered number 286 as his number and is considering running in the
Super Stock Class in an Erlandson prepared car. Now is your chance to bring it to the track.
More on this story as it developes.

A few things came up at the Drivers meeting and track manager meetings that might interest all of us.
The Lewistown AMX Board would like a driver representative form each class of cars, we as drivers need to get together and decide who we want as our representatives.
Also the board would like to know if you have any good ideas about how to raise fan attendance.
At the Track managers meeting it was decided to create a AMX Board consisting of 2 members form each track to make descisions on AMX Rules.
Also for 2005 there will be an overall points champion.
IF you want to start building your car for next year there are no major changes to the car rules.
The bumber loop bar is going to mandatory for Stock and Super Stock.

Dodson September 11th Race story, results and points are posted.
9/9/04
Information about the upcoming Dodson Race.
Dodson race will be at 3 PM. Gates open at noon, hot laps and grand entry at 2 PM; racing at 3 PM.
The Dodson drivers and their families will host a potluck after the races at the VFW in Malta. The VFW is having live music on Friday, Sept. 10 and Saturday Sept. 11. The VFW will also host a pig roast BBQ beginning at 2 pm to run all night or until food is gone on Saturday (they did promise to save some for the racers).
We will have the National Guard color guard presenting the flags, the Sheriff's Dept.; Fire Dept; and Ambulance personnel also will be present.
The track is in excellent condition and ready to race on. The weather forecast is for a hot day, with a light breeze (hopefully it will blow the dust away).
The scoring is tight in Stock and Super Stock class (a simple mistake can change everything). Hope to see everyone who was in Havre there as well as any others who make the adventure over to Dodson.
Don't forget--we are honoring all our hometown heroes and those who have lost their lives and are serving overseas right now. Dodson has a flagger currently serving his country and a brother of a racer who just returned from Iraq.
Good Luck at the Races!! see you there!!

Be aware for the July 3rd race in Lewistown you will not be allowed to leave vehicles over night at the track.
All vehicles must be removed to make room for the Shrine Circus and fireworks display on July 4th.
Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.

AMX racers may be in for a real treat. This “treat” would involve all three classes of race cars. Remember, this is just
in the very early stages of organization and driver support would be very helpful, so if you want to see this kind of
event in the future, plan to attend and bring as many friends as you can.
That could be the headlines. The Lewistown Drag Racing Club is considering to plan and schedule a Special Event at their drag strip this summer. The tentative date is August 14th and 15th. At this time, they are reviewing the AMX race car specs, determining if there exist any problems that might become dangerous on their track. At this point, very few things would have to be added to our existing cars. Limited to an 1/8 mile race, our cars would compete under ET guidelines. Perhaps pairing of top performing cars in each division could be a possibility.
This opportunity for you to race your car just one more time this year is our open invitation to more similar races in the future. A good car count is essential, so if you are interested in joining in the fun, let the LDRA or the AMX know your intent. Early entry might be down the line; this is so that the LDRA can make final plans. Any event takes time and people to put it on, it would be a shame if they went to a lot of trouble to schedule this and then very few racers showed up. Let’s not let them down or ourselves for that matter. Entry fees have not been set, but more info will be available soon. I expect to hear from everyone so don’t let me down. Nancy

The Havre race didn't go - they called it off on Wednesday of last week. Havre got a down poor and the north end of the
track still has a lot of gumbo in it. They have replaced most of it but still have a lot of work to do. They have done
a ton of work on the track since last year and have a lot of people helping out to include the mud racers, 4-wheelers,
and bike racers helping on the track. The race is scheduled for this weekend Saturday and Sunday. I don't think the
turn out will be real good as far as the cars, but there should be a good crowd there. We are going to do time trials
in Havre and during the time trials I will have two radar guns shooting the cars at the ends of both straight-aways to
see who can go the fastest. There should be some bragging rights there and I think the speed of the mini-stock cars will
surprise everyone. The big jump is set up better this year and even the slow cars should get some air without losing their
suspension.

Signs of spring are a sure indication that the AMX race season is inching closer. The rumor
mill is in full swing, creating a cesspool of inaccurate information.
Big things are happening in the AMX. Just when everyone thought it couldn’t get bigger and better or worse yet, fall into a pit of despair, the AMX reached down deep and pulled out a race program second to none.
There have been a few changes in the AMX Board of Directors. "Butz" Glidewell is making a heroic effort to beat this thing that threatens to engulf him. He is still a member of the AMX Board and will continue to be so until he decides differently. Our long-standing member and race driver representative, Leonard Davis has stepped down from his position on the Board. Hopefully, we will see Leonard at the races, but his work will keep him from performing his duties as a board member. I have resigned as the secretary/treasurer and have joined the board as a voting member. Jody Hertzog has assumed the position of secretary/treasurer. Board member, Brad Leap has been named as Head Technician; Jerry Vogl is still the Vice President and Head Safety Technician. Dick Erlandson is still the President and Lewistown Track Manager.
People retaining there past positions are, Dean Dunlap with video and safety, Michelle Riley as admissions and race-day treasurer, Charmaine Marynik as head lap counter, Cindy Bassett as statistician, Kim Erlandson as lineup technician, Bob Jenni as head flagger and Perry Brezenski as the announcer. Other individuals will be brought on line as the racing draws nearer.
New additions to the association are Rodney Noone as the new webmaster. Paul Granot has been appointed to the position of Motorcycle Chairman and Ike Waltari appointed as the 4-Wheeler Chairman. Warren Stenseth is the Assistant to the Safety Technician. I will be the Points Secretary as well as the Race Number Registrar and the Publicity Correspondent.
Not just people and the jobs they do are new; we have a few new concepts for racing. First, the AMX will be racing dirt bikes in MX style on our ½ mile track. With Paul Granot’s experience, the AMX Board feels confident that the bike racing will be a tremendous success. Not to be outdone, Ike Waltari as the Chairman of the ATV Races will be determined to put on as good a show if not better. Feature race for the ATV races will be the Farm & Ranch class. Note, Carharts required, Copenhagen optional.
The first Lewistown race on June 5th will have a "teaser" competition of ATV’s and MX bikes worked into the regular race schedule. The July 3rd race will be the "Triple Crown" of racing, featuring a full schedule of mini stock, stock, super stock and the all new MX and ATV races.
Race drivers get to compete in an all new team event. Made up of one mini stock, one super stock and one stock car, points earned by team members will be tabulated together over the four Lewistown races to determine the highest point winners. The winners are awarded a set of three identical trophies and cash, lots of cash at the end of the year AMX awards banquet. Enter before the race season starts and for more information call me, Nancy, at 538-7707.
One other thing, the AMX Season Passes are now on sale for $20 bucks. There are extras added into these passes, so check them out at my shop, Sew & Sew’s, in the Mini Mall.
AMX has finally reached parity. We now have three tracks and each track has four races. The race schedule is as follows:
May 15 Phillips County Fairgrounds, Dodson May 29 Lohman Motorsports Complex, Havre June 5 Fergus County Fairgrounds, Lewistown June 19 Lohman Motorsports Complex, Havre July 3 Fergus County Fairgrounds, Lewistown July 10 Phillips County Fairgrounds, Dodson July 24 Lohman Motorsports Complex, Havre July 31 Fergus County Fairgrounds, Lewistown August 7 Phillips County Fairgrounds, Dodson August 28 Fergus County Fairgrounds, Lewistown September 4 Lohman Motorsports Complex, Havre September 11 Phillips County Fairgrounds, Dodson
